Kalpana Ek Avishkaar Anek-The most unique concept in the world of One-Act Play Competitions.

As the name suggests, the competition provides wide array for the writers to identify their inborn quality to write and express through One-Act Plays that are based on a single thought; suggested by any eminent dramatist personae of the theater world.

Acclaimed to be the most popular competition; was reincarnated by Astitva in the year 2005. Kalpana Ek Avishkaar Anek's yesteryear concepts/thoughts were suggested by Famous Poet Shri Narayan Surve, Eminent Theatre personality Ms. Vijaya Mehta, Living legend of acting Dr. Shri Ram Lagoo, dignified Story writer Shri Bharat Saasne, Shri Pradeep Rane, Shri Satish Alekar, Shri Girish Karnad, Abhiram Bhadkamkar, C P Deshpande, Rajan Khan & Shri Gulzar.

Performers across the State with Comedy aka Vinodi One Act Plays compete to prove their abilities of being the most entertaining & humorous theatre group of the year.

Every year the competition commemorates the event of "World Humor Day" on 5th May.

Due to advent of television in the entertainment scenario most of the play writer's have shifted to writing for television media which has left a vast scope for new young writer's to express their talents in play writing like one act plays and full length plays. Astitva is providing these new young writers an arena where they can mend and sharpen their skills in writing and learn the technicalities involves in play writing. The writing workshop which they are organizing now will be a grind to get the best out of the concepts and scripts developed by various writers for the competition are for other platforms.

ASTITVA conducts its Theatre Orientation (Natya-Prashikshan) & Play Writing (Natya-Lekhan) Workshop for all aspiring talents of the society. This workshop is not a regular workshop that keeps you busy on all the evenings; the time that everyone tend to spend their own way should not be grabbed by us. So to ease out the pressure from the hectic schedule and timed out city life; we conduct these workshop only on Saturdays and Sundays.

Astitva Natya Lekhan Shibir is a unique week-end workshop in writing commercial, science fiction, comedy and fantasy plays in Marathi Language. The workshop is intimate, intense, and features extensive time spent with best-selling and award-winning authors and professional editors currently working in the field. Astitva's Natya Lekhan event concentrates on the art of writing plays through eminent and acclaimed authors of the Marathi Theatre World.

Representing various genres and eventful experiences with them; the faculties would conduct this interactive workshop to assist budding writer's brush up their skills in writing good, meaningful and commercial plays. Conducted by eminent theatre personalities & stalwarts; the teaching encourages an informal and supportive workshop atmosphere. During the sessions, instructors and participants interact in one-on-one, group critiques, and lectures. The emphasis at first is on critiquing the participants understanding and notions about their ability of play writing; later, the emphasis shifts to interactions and thought process, conceptualizations developed during the 2 Days session. Even when not actively engaged in teaching or critiquing, instructors often share general conversation with the participants.

The Natya Lekhan Shibir experience is more than the workshop itself; it also includes the sessions to exhibit participant's inter personal skills and their abilities of play writing. Taken all together, they create a learning environment that's perfect for helping you reach your writing and publishing goals.




Hindi One-Act Play Competition in Open Category

Indian National Theatre has been organizing Inter-Collegiate One - Act Play Competition in Marathi annually for more than 3 Decades. The competition has proved to be highly popular event with the college students of Mumbai.

ASTITVA has been successfully organizing Marathi, Hindi One-Act Play Competitions at inter collegiate & in open category too. At various levels, Astitva has also conducted Play Writing, Acting & Theatre Orientation workshops from more than 1 decade.

Since 2005; a collaborative venture has been initiated by Astitva. INT will present in collaboration with Astitva a One Act Play Competition in Hindi Language. We shall be organizing this competition every year in the month of September/October. The Competition is in one of its kind in Hindi Language. The motive behind the event is to provide platforms to the theatre activists who after the college curriculum do not find any platform to exhibit their talent. Since there is no restriction on the age and category in the competition; it provides wider array for the participants to come together and venture their acting potential.

The Competition is in open category and All Colleges, Amateur and Non-Professional Theatre Groups are entitled to participate in the same.
